What we like most about the Alcatel OT-990:
The Alcatel OT-990 has an option for 3, 5, and 7 home screens which is refreshing and ensures that first time smart phone users are not overwhelmed. It only has a 600Mhz processor but can run the apps that we’re all accustomed to using and relying on thanks to it’s to a generous Adreno 200 GPU- proving that in the smart-phone market, the rush to out-do other smart phones with the fastest processor is sometimes more about a selling point and for high end users, rather than about genuine performance on a daily basis for most users.
We love that the Alcatel OT-990 is a simple, user friendly and good looking smart phone that you can be proud to pull out amount all kinds of company, without feeling outdone. It’s a great phone and one of the best we’ve seen in the midrange, budget phone market for quite a while!
Alcatel mobile phones have obviously made the Alcatel OT-808 to appeal to the female half of the human race, as this handset is designed to fit snugly inside a handbag and look just like any other piece of makeup kit that resides there. You won’t see many footballers or builders walking around with this one. With it’s chunky pink design and reflective surface that allows you to check out that annoying pimple, there’s no getting away from this primarily feminine offering.
Unfortunately the features of this mobile phone are lacking majorly. If you want to browse the Internet for a new pair of shoes, it’s going to be a slow affair without 3G or Wi-Fi support. You do get a good-sized QWERTY keyboard however, so sending text messages won’t be a problem. An Alcatel OT-808 review however is let down by the user interface that isn’t at all intuitive, and the dated menu system leaves even the most tech-savvy person confused.
But really, the Alcatel OT-808 is more of a fashion statement than a serious phone. You can make calls, send texts, pretend to be on the Internet, and that’s about it, but at least you’ll look good doing it.
