The Meizu M6 has a very low price tag that won't hurt your wallet, but is it able to have the features and hardware to make it worthwhile? In this post, we'll have a look at the Meizu M6, now available in Australia.
Body and Screen
The Meizu M6 has a 5.2 inch HD screen, a size that allows for great viewing while still remaining compact and comfortable to hold. The back of the phone is polycarbonate, but it has a metallic finish to give it a sleek and stylish look while remaining light. One addition to the Meizu M6 that really impresses is its fingerprint scanner mounted to the front, allowing for a secure and quick unlock of the phone. Fingerprint scanners are usually only found on mid-range to flagship phones, but Meizu have managed to pack it in a budget phone.
The resolution of the Meizu M6 camera is also very impressive, with a 13 megapixel back camera and 8 megapixel front camera. They perform quite well, taking some decent shots with good colour reproduction and contrast. There are the bells and whistles of panorama mode, mosaic mode, and beauty mode, to allow you to enhance your shots.
Processor and Memory
The Meizu M6 comes with 16GB of on-board storage and 2GB of RAM, allowing you to store and run many processes simultaneously. If you require more storage though, there is the usual card slot to allow you to expand your memory using a MicroSD of up to 256GB. The Meizu M6 has a Mediatek MT6750 processor, which although is an entry level processor, it will be able to handle most basic tasks fine with little to no lag. More demanding tasks such as playing the latest 3D games will struggle.
Meizu has packed a large non-removable 3060mAh battery in the M6. As a result, it should be able to last quite long due to its power efficient processor and screen. Meizu claims that "There's more than enough juice to last you through the whole day", and that is the case from real word reviews so far.
The Meizu M6 is a solid budget phone, which punches above its weight considering the price. A decent design and screen, fingerprint scanner, camera, memory and battery life all contribute to making a great budget phone. We would recommend the Meizu M6 for anyone that wants a cheap basic phone that is still able to handle basic tasks. Where to buy?
