Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime - Budget Phone with Premium DesignPrint
While many Smartphone enthusiasts keep a close eye on Samsung’s S series phones, their J series has also had enormous success over these years, producing budget phones which are known to still offer great performance. However, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime, Samsung’s latest J series phone, takes the definition of a budget phone to a new level, offering a premium design that makes it look extremely similar to its higher end counterparts. How does the J7 Prime fare in other features though? In this post, we’ll have a look.
Body & Screen
Traditionally J series phones have a plastic design, but Samsung has packed in an all-metal unibody design in the J7 Prime to offer a premium build. The J7 Prime has a 5.5 inch Full-HD LCD screen, giving it great detail and easy viewing. Samsung has done exellent work with the bezels, making the 5.5 inch phone considerably smaller than one would expect. There is Gorilla Glass to offer protection, and you’ll get a really fast fingerprint scanner is on the home button.
Processor, Memory, and Performance
The Samsung J7 Prime has a Exynos 7870 with Octa-Core CPU and 3GB of RAM, very impressive given that it’s a budget phone. You’ll be able to run many applications simultaneously without many issues. One disadvantage is that it only comes with 16GB of onboard storage, but that can easily be solved by adding a MicroSD card of up to 256GB in its dedicated slot.
The J7 Prime has a 13 megapixel primary camera with f/1.9 aperture, and 8 megapixel front camera, a very high resolution for a budget Samsung phone. Reviews already indicate that the J7 Prime camera focuses extremely quickly and has fast shutter speed, being excellent during the day, and still decent at night in low light conditions. Selfies also came out with good detail, and Samsung has included beauty mode to smoothen out all the pesky skim blemishes. Samsung has always been known for making great cameras in its phones, and it has continued that reputation with the J7 Prime.
The J7 Prime has a 3300mAh battery to power its 5.5 inch Full-HD screen, and the battery does pretty well in the regard. Reviewers noted that the J7 Prime was much better than many other phones, and was able to last an entire day under heavy usage easily. Average users should be able to get more than a day of battery usage. There are also many battery saving modes for the moments where you are unable to reach a charger.
Samsung has yet again ticked all the boxes, with the J7 Prime featuring a detailed screen and camera, decent performance, and long battery life. Combine that with its premium design, and you’ll get a great looking and great performing phone that won’t hurt your wallet.
