Just arrived are Samsung’s newest mid-range phones, the Galaxy A5 2017 and A7 2017. With metal bodies, Super AMOLED displays, and 16 megapixel front and back cameras, the A5 and A7 both seem like Flagship phones. Being significantly cheaper than the Galaxy S7, how does it stack up against it in all features? We’ll have a look in this post.
Screen Size
First of all, the only difference between the A5 2017 and A7 2017 is the screen size. The A5 has a 5.2 inch screen and the A7 is a larger 5.7 inch. The new Huawei Mate 9 has finally arrived. With a 5.9 inch screen, it promises to be the best big-screened phone in the market right now. How does it fare in other features? We have a look at all the features of Huawei’s latest flagship.
Body & Screen
On first glance, the Mate 9 looks very similar to last year’s Mate 8. However Huawei has improved the narrow vertical bezels and its slim profile, allowing it to be easier to hold than other large screen devices. Many reviews noted that holding the Mate 9 was more comfortable than their iPhone 7 Plus or Nexus 6P, which is impressive given that the Mate 9 has a larger screen.
There’s a fingerprint scanner at the back, which is extremely fast and accurate like most Huawei phones. You can also use the fingerprint scanner for gestures, allowing you to tap once to go back, press and hold to return to the home screen, or swipe down to open your notifications.

Sony’s latest flagship, the Xperia XZ, was released late last year. It’s a tough market out there, but can the Xperia XZ compete against the rest?
Body & Screen
It appears that Sony has listened to growing demands for aesthetically pleasing smartphones. While the Xperia XZ still retains a rectangle shape, it is curvier than its predecessors, with slightly rounded edges. As a result, it is much more comfortable to hold. The fingerprint scanner of the Xperia XZ is placed on the power button at the side of the phone, making it much more convenient to unlock. With a waterproof rating of IP68, the Xperia XZ can be submerged in 1.5m of water for 30 minutes. The Xperia XZ also packs a bright Full-HD 5.2 inch screen, with excellent contrast and viewing angles. Sony has historically known for making extremely colourful and vibrant screens,
