Apple has been thrown a hot potato at them by the European Union (EU) with new legislation being approved regarding USB Type-C charging devices under a new single phone charger law.
The changes will be challenging to say the least, and Apple has already vented their anger at the proposal months ago and will continue to do so. The new legislation is to condense the market, make things simpler for the consumer, and alleviate waste; however, Apple thinks to the contrary. In Apple's EEDC 2022 keynote—Apple announced wide-ranging new features to product lines, such as the following:

One awesome thing about owning a smartphone in Australia is you can keep your existing phone number when you switch to a different carrier. PHONE CONTRACTS ARE OUTDATED
A massive 5 million smartphones were sold in Australia between 2017 and 2018. People used to buy their phones indirectly through a 24-month contract with their phone company. Dual SIM phones have made communication more convenient and hassle-free for many users. They were (and still are) popular in Asia and parts of Europe and are now a mainstay in Australia's smartphone industry. Some users like to expand their call, text and surfing options, prompting them to buy SIM cards from different service providers. In terms of usage, whether you can use them one at a time or simultaneously, dual SIM phones are classified as either passive or active. Buyers need to check with their selected manufacturer to see if they purchased a passive or active dual SIM unit.

By Josh Lowensohn, CNET News.com on November 3rd, 2011
Tim Cook has been Apple's chief executive officer for little more than two months, but he's already made some distinct changes from his predecessor, a new report says.
The Wall Street Journal has posted a profile of Cook's experience since taking on the CEO role (subscription required). The paper took a close look at a number of changes made during his tenure so far, which began in August when the company's late co-founder Steve Jobs stepped down as CEO.
