This phone from Sony Ericsson comes in somewhere between the Xperia X10 and the Xperia X10 mini. Both phones are good phones, one criticised for being a little too big, and the other for being too small, so everyone is hoping the Sony Ericsson X8 review will be good by being somewhere in the middle.

In terms of size, the Sony Ericsson X8 lives up to expectations. The 3-inch screen is usable especially as it’s capacitive, which makes it all the more user-friendly. Also having a smaller screen and therefore using less power than it’s X10 big brother, the battery life is much improved. The X8 also has a very clever media player interface that works really well.

Downsides of this offering from Sony Ericsson mobile phones are the lack of multi-touch support and a very old version of the Android operating system. But these are just minor points, and the Sony Ericsson does actually stack up quite well as a mid-range mobile phone. The curved back means it sits comfortably in your hand and feels quite solid. The camera is good, and sound quality acceptable. Available in black and white, it’s expected the Sony Ericsson X8 will be a popular buy.
