Are you after a great smartphone on a budget? Luckily in 2017 there are many phones which are cheap yet still powerful and aesthetically pleasing. Here is a list of the 5 best phones under $300 at Mobileciti, sorted in ascending order of price.

ZTE Blade V2 ZTE Blade V2

ZTE have long been well-known in the budget phone market, and the ZTE Blade V2 is a clear example of why. It features excellent specifications of a 5 inch 720p screen to give you easy viewing. It also has 4G bands, most importantly Band 28, a fast band that Telstra and Optus use. Camera quality is decent, with a 8 megapixel back camera and 5 megapixel front camera. The only downside of the ZTE Blade V2 is its memory as it only comes with 8GB of on-board storage and 1GB of RAM, but it will still run fine for basic usage. You could always expand the storage with a 32GB MicroSD card.  The price of the V2? Just a tad over $100, making it by far the cheapest option available, and one that certainly won't hurt the wallet. HTC Desire 650 HTC Desire 650

Just recently released this year in Australia, the HTC Desire 650 is the next step up and a great choice if you are a fan of HTC's design and ethos. It has a Snapdragon 400 chipset, allowing it to be faster than the ZTE Blade V2. You'll get a decent amount of memory, with 16GB of on-board storage and 2GB of RAM, and the usual microSD slot. It also has a 13 megapixel back camera and 5 megapixel front camera, and the clear speakers that HTC are well-known for. That's not all, the HTC Desire 650 also features NFC, Gorilla Glass, and a stylish back design which has two sections for both aesthetics and comfort. A cheap all-round budget phone for those who do not want to spend too much but still want a capable smartphone. Want one? Get your HTC Desire 650 here.

Sony Xperia XA Sony Xperia XA

Now we move onto the performance heavy phones, and the Sony Xperia XA is certainly one of them. First of all, it has a beautiful design that'll be sure to impress anyone that sees it. (seriously, just look at it!). It also has a 5 inch screen like the V2 and the Desire 650, however where the Xperia XA stands out lies in its performance, with a Helio P10 chipset and Octa-core CPU. You'll be able to run most apps on the Xperia XA without much lag, with performance benchmarks ranking the Xperia XA significantly higher than many other smartphones in its price range. Cameras are also good on the Xperia XA, with a 13 megapixel back camera and 8 megapixel front camera, making the Xperia XA a better selfie camera than the Desire 650. The downside is that there's no NFC or Gorilla Glass, so if that's what you're after the HTC Desire 650 will be a better choice. In summary, a great looking and performing budget phone. Make sure to swing by and check the Sony Xperia XA out.

Moto G5 Moto G5

Released April this year, the Moto G5 is a new and already extremely popular phone. It's easy to see why, with a fingerprint sensor in the front, and a 5 inch Full-HD screen for excellent viewing. Another big advantage the Moto G5 has over the others is battery life, as its large 2800mAh battery should allow you to more easily get through the day under moderate to heavy use. Cameras are also quite decent, with a 13 megapixel back camera and 5 megapixel front camera. However although its Snapdragon 430 Chipset is newer and more powerful than the HTC Desire 650, it is not as fast as the Sony Xperia XA. Overall, the Moto G5 is a decent performing phone and one of the cheapest with a Full-HD screen and fingerprint sensor, making it an attractive option for most consumers. Moto G4 Plus Moto G4 Plus

Last but not least is the Moto G4 Plus. Although the G4 Plus is last years model, it is still currently one of the more attractive options in the market due to its heavy discounting. For around $300 you'll get a large 5.5 inch Full-HD screen, Gorilla Glass and Fingerprint Scanner. Performance is also, with a fast Snapdragon 617 chipset, and a 16 megapixel back camera for detailed and accurate captures. It is also worth to note that it is also Dual-SIM 3G/4G, making it one of the only few select Dual-SIM phones left after Australian networks close their 2G frequencies. It comes in 2 configurations of 2GB RAM / 16GB storage, and 3GB RAM / 32GB storage. Only the 2GB RAM version is currently under $300, but for a bit extra, the 3GB RAM version is certainly worthy of consideration if you are a moderate to heavy user. Certainly the best option for $300 as it both looks and performs well, with many features that sets the G4 Plus from the rest. Going to get the Moto G4 Plus?
